Happy Birthday Tracey

Yesterday it was my step daughter Traceys' birthday ( I won't say which one,LOL!) Before heading out to her house in North Vancouver, we stopped at a deli and picked up lunch meat, tomatoes and buns for lunch. And instead of a big cake we had cupcakes...yummy!

our visit with Madison

Hi everyone, well it’s been a week since we had our little granddaughter Madison come for a visit for a few days. It’s taken me a while to put words to paper about our lovely visit. This past week has been busy with one thing or another. Madison is just so precious! She is starting to talk, she loves to dance and play dress up and have tea parties. Madison loves Gramma's tea, LOL when we were having our tea she would say 'hot, hot' but once it cooled down and I gave her a sip, she'd drink half my cup, LOL! She loves to play outside pulling the wagon, kicking a ball and picking flowers. She's a good eater as well as a good sleeper. Like most little ones she loves Tree House too. She adores watching the birds outside our kitchen window and can't wait til her Papa comes home from work! At the end of the day we have bath time and I get soaked, LOL! It’s just my dream come true to have a darling granddaughter like Madison. And because we had such a fun time I took a lot of photos, LOL!

A card for Jayme

Hi everyone! I’ve heard that blogger Lisa has a sister, Jayme who has lung cancer. Lisa was asking if we could send Jayme funny/happy RAKs. Jayme adores frogs so this is what I came up with. The stamp is from Inkadoo, the background paper is GTC Crafty Corner and the sentiment is from Doodle Beans Digital Stamps. I hope everyone will join in and send RAKs out to Jayme. Thank you to Angie for letting me know about Lisa and Jayme.

Enjoying a Spring Day

I was going through some of my templates looking for a dress so I could make a 'girly' card. While I was searching I found this image. I've had it for a few years so thought I'd use it. The flowers are a digi from Paper Cupcakes and the tree is a stamp. I used pale green chalk for the grassy area and pale blue for the sky. I colored the lady's dress with lilac pencil crayon, then used OMS. I trimmed around the picture with silver peel offs.

Anniversary Card

here's a card I made for my girlfriend and her hubby, they are celebrating their Anniversary next month. I'm entering this over at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge for their sketch challenge.

Celebrating Mother's Day

No cards today. Once again it’s all about family. We had a Mother’s Day BBQ here at home. My oldest son Matt came, my youngest son Mark, his fiancĂ©e Rachel, baby Madison, (who by the way is almost 19 months! How did that happen, LOL! In just over 5 months she’ll be 2!!) and the rest of her siblings Chris, Jordan, Sebastian, Jesse, Kassandra and Matt. My step daughter Tracey and her sons Alex and Thomas also joined us. We had a wonderful day, the sun came out, the kids had water balloon fights, played ball, then practice jumping over our low front fence. Madison had fun just being outside with the rest of the kids. Mark went round to our little corner store and bought everyone bubblegum ice cream cones! (I’m not ‘into’ bubblegum so gramma said no thanks!) I was a very lucky mom today, my step daughter Tracey bought me a lovely pink flowering hanging basket, Mark & Rachel also bought me a lovely purple flowering hanging basket and my darling hubby bought me some pretty tulips. Tulips are one of my favorite flowers! On the menu today my hubby BBQ'd chicken breast, beef wieners and hamburgers. We had corn on the cob, baked potatoes with sour cream, raw veggies, grapes and strawberries and the usual chips and cheesies. My darling hubby went out this morning to get the shopping in for me and also bought 2 types of cake, a Black Forest and a white one, yummm!! Good food, wonderful company and a great day. I thought I’d be taking loads of pictures today but was so busy with everything and everyone that I just took a few, LOL! I hope everyone enjoyed their special day no matter where you live or whether you’re a ‘mom’ to kids, pets or hubby’s! LOL... Hugs, Valerie
