clean and simple was the challenge at Crafty Cardmakers. I like trying to keep it clean and simple because I'm one who loves to add lots of embellishments, so this was a great challenge for me, LOL!

an envelope card
I had so much fun making this envelope card. Haven't made one in a few years, lol. The flowers are a free digi from Marjie's Malarkies. I've colored them with pencil crayons then used OMS to blend. I've sponged around the outside with pixie pink stampin up ink. I'm entering this at Paper Sundaes for the challenge to use mixed mediums.
g is for garden tools
I made this card for a group challenge but found it was perfect for the challenge at Our Creative Corner - ABC and 123 -
Pretty Pink Dress
I was going through some of my papers the other night and found this dress image. It's very simple but elegant at the same time and just had to find a challenge to use it for. 2 Sketches 4 You was that challenge, simple but elegant....

I adore butterflies and use them every chance I get, LOL! Anyways I'm entering this at Inspirational Card Sketches for the sketch.

WISH
I've used the bleached effect on this card (just above the WISH) and think it turned out quite well. I stamped the image with VersaMark, used white glitter then heat embossed it. It's only the second time I've tried this so tell me what you think. The stamp is one I bought at Michaels for $1.50, I also bought the ribbon there too. I bought the gems at our local dollar store. I used the d vine embossing folder. I'm entering this into 2 challenges:
Papertake Weekly - just the one
OCC - sketch

A quick update on the kids
Well I haven’t made any cards for the last few days. We’ve had a couple of our grandchildren come to stay for a few days. A couple of weeks ago our darling 22 month old granddaughter Madison came for 4 days. Then the following week our sweet 7 almost 8 year old Thomas came for 4 days. After that we travelled up north (to Chase & Lac le Jeune) to visit my sister and go to my great nephew Adams’ first birthday. The following are some photos we took...

Blog Candy Available
hi everyone! I just heard that Amy over at A thousand sheets of paper has some really great blog candy! Here is what she says: "Today is a special day here at the ol' A thousand sheets of paper blog. No, it's not quite the one year anniversary, as that was on July 16th. Instead I thought it would be fun to combine that celebration with another crazy milestone that I've been keeping track of and finally hit this past week... you see, since I started making cards and posting them here I've been keeping track of the number of different sheets of pattern paper that I cut into for my cards just to see how long it would take to get to 1000. I'm excited to say that it only took a couple weeks over my year anniversary to get there! I told you this was crazy! LOL!Crazy or not though, I'm in the mood to celebrate (and clear out some paper) so I've got A THOUSAND 6x6 sheets of paper that I'm giving away! Wanna see what 1000 sheets of paper looks like? Take a look-see..." The candy is only available til Friday Sept 3 so hurry on over and make sure you enter.....hugs, Valerie
